Gympie Diggers Football Club More Info Page:

For Game Details on Wet Days please ring - 5483 7224 - for a recorded message or listen to local radio 4GY on 558 AM for more details.

All playing shirts are supplied by the Club.
After each game, the shirts are to be returned to the TEAM BAG for washing purposes. All the shirts are to be washed, dried and stored together to ensure that ALL the shirts are available and at the ready for the next match. Shirt allocations at Season's start should normally see the same numbered shirt being worn by the same player all Season. Shirts are to be line dried only. Shirts are never to be put in a cloths drier as they will be destroyed if dried in that method. Remember, always line dry your Team Shirts.

Set up and take down of Field Nets
We are reminded that when we have the first game on a particular field, we are required to put up the goal nets on that field. Usually our team looks after one end of the field. That entails, hanging the net and installing the corner posts (if supplied). We can find the net-bags for each field (except for Fields 1 & 2) on the ground outside the dressing room sheds near the canteen in the middle of the Main Fields Complex. Subsequently, when we are drawn to have the last game on a particular field we are required to remove the nets and replace into supplied bags with pegs and mallet and return along with corner posts to the racks inside the storage area between the change rooms in the middle of the Main Fields Complex.
Your assistance in this operational aspect is expected and is much appreciated.

To complete their kit all players are required to wear the Diggers approved shorts, socks and shin guards. This equipment is usually supplied by each player for their own personal use and is available locally from our supporter Sportspower. Players will receive a discount when outfitting their gear from Sportspower. See the friendly staff who will be able to assist with all your requirements.

Very important message from Football Gympie
Attention all clubs, Would you please advise all your members and supporters to not bring dogs to the fields at One Mile Ovals. We had a situation at the weekend which could have been very nasty with a young child and two dogs.
DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE FIELDS.
Regards, Pam Tindall Football Gympie Inc.

Please ensure that all players in the competition are advised of the following matters that referees have been instructed to enforce this season.
JEWELLERY: NO jewellery will be permitted to be worn for matches – this includes any rings (including flat wedding bands), earrings, eyebrow, lip or nose rings. Chains, necklaces or wrist bands of any kind (including leather or plastic). Taping of jewellery will no longer be allowed.
TIME WASTING: Includes carrying or throwing ball away, and standing over point where restart is to be taken. This will be vigorously enforced and may result in a caution.
SHIRT PULLING: This includes other forms of obstruction such as arms out or blocking an opponent’s progress out of playing distance from the ball.
ELBOWING: This includes accidental elbowing where in the referee’s opinion the action was reckless (yellow card). If in the referee’s opinion the action was deliberate it will be considered Serious Foul Play which is a send-off offence (red card).
DISSENT: Players are entitled to ask a question, but not to abuse, harass or mob the referee or assistants.
SIMULATION: Any player who in the referee’s opinion simulates a foul in order to gain an unfair advantage is guilty of cheating and will receive a caution (yellow card). There will be no warnings given for this offence.
RECKLESS PLAY: Where a player tackles in a manner that may cause injury to his/her opponent, (such as studs up) a red card may ensue. If you have any queries about these matters please feel free to contact me for further elaboration.
Thank you for your co-operation.
FOOTBALL AUSTRALIA REFEREES GYMPIE OPERATIONS MANAGER
These instructions have been amended to include the following -
SWEARING: In particular the abrasive 'f' & 'c' words - (and that doesn't stand for 'fruit' & 'cake') will incur an immediate send-off (red card). Severe course language will not be tolerated.
REFEREE ABUSE: by Coaches, Managers and Club Officials will incur to the offending Club a financial penalty.
So keep it cool out there.

Team game sheets are to clearly mark each Team's distinctive identity - eg. 'Maroon', 'Blue' or 'White'.

Please, all Coaches Note: we need to turn off the lights as soon as practicable after Training. Thanks.

Sports Med Centre
If you need strapping tape applied in the correct way, go across to the Sports Med Centre next to Fields One and Two. There the qualified staff can apply strapping tape to any of your joints that may require support. An even bigger bonus is that if you supply your own tape, the fee is wavered. If you don't supply your own tape, a fee of $5 per taping applies.
High quality strapping tape in a good sized roll is available from the Clubhouse canteen at a cost of $12 per roll.
Also available is sports massage which relies on a donation in return for the service.

Small-Sided Games are to start on time and in particular are to ***finish on time*** Which means if a game starts late, it's duration must duly be altered to meet the time slot allotted - allowing subsequent games the opportunity to start at their scheduled times.

A reminder that there is to be no alcohol consumed around the grounds. It is to be confined to the designated area at the Clubhouse only! Football Gympie is designated a 'Smoke Free Zone'.
